Delta sees place for Boeing’s 737 MAX jet in its fleet -Airline Weekly

CHICAGO, Sept 24 (Reuters) – Delta Air Traces sees a spot for Boeing’s 737 Max airplane on the service because it seems to reshape its fleet over the following decade, Airline Weekly reported on Thursday, citing feedback by Delta’s chief govt.

“No information to report [but] we’re always speaking to [Boeing],” Airline Weekly quoted Delta Chief Government Ed Bastian as saying in a webinar on Sept. 20. “There is definitely a spot for [the Max] if we will work out the way to carry them in.”

Any Boeing 737 MAX order could be the primary for Delta, which didn’t have the plane in its fleet when the airplane was grounded in March 2019 following two deadly crashes. It will even be the primary main Boeing order for Delta in a decade.

The story, nonetheless, didn’t say if there have been any buy orders on the horizon.

A Delta spokesperson declined to verify Bastian’s feedback and stated the airline has no fleet bulletins to make.

Boeing didn’t reply to a request for remark.

Reuters reported final October that Boeing had discussions with Delta to take 40 of the 737 MAX jets.

Within the webinar, Bastian stated Delta was additionally seeking to purchase extra Airbus A220 and A350 plane, Airline Weekly reported.

Airbus didn’t reply to a Reuters’ request for feedback.
