WASHINGTON, Oct 24 (Reuters) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen refused to say on Sunday whether or not she supported the renomination of Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve chairman however mentioned regulation of economic establishments has been strengthened by him and his predecessors.
Yellen mentioned she wouldn’t talk about what recommendation she was giving President Joe Biden on the difficulty. “I’d say that in his time period, and through my time period and (Ben) Bernanke’s time period, regulation of economic establishments has been markedly strengthened,” she mentioned on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
