Facebook says root cause of outage was faulty configuration change

Oct 4 (Reuters) – Fb Inc on Monday cited defective configuration adjustments on its routers as the basis reason for the practically six-hour outage that prevented the corporate’s 3.5 billion customers from accessing its social media and messaging companies.
“Our engineering groups have realized that configuration adjustments on the spine routers that coordinate community visitors between our information facilities triggered points that interrupted this communication,” Fb in a weblog publish.
