Oct 1 (Reuters) – India’s Tata Sons has been chosen because the profitable bidder for the debt-laden state-run airline Air India, Bloomberg on Friday.
A panel of ministers accepted a proposal from officers recommending the salt-to-software conglomerate forward of a proposal from Ajay Singh, promoter of India’s airline operator Spicejet Ltd , the report stated.
A spokesperson for Tata Sons declined to remark. A finance ministry spokesperson didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters message looking for remark, whereas Air India declined to remark.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authorities has been pushing to promote its complete curiosity within the loss-making airline, stored aloft by a bailout since 2012.
