Some Evergrande bondholders not paid coupon by end of Wed deadline NY time-sources
HONG KONG, Sept 30 (Reuters) – A few of China Evergrande Group’s offshore bondholders haven’t acquired curiosity cost due by the tip of Wednesday New York time, two folks accustomed to the matter instructed Reuters, with the corporate lacking its second debt obligation this month.
The cash-strapped firm was due on Wednesday to make a $47.5 million bond curiosity cost on its 9.5% March 2024 greenback bond. It had missed paying $83.5 million in coupon final Thursday.
A spokesperson for Evergrande didn’t have any rapid remark. Reuters was unable to find out whether or not Evergrande has instructed bondholders what it plans to do relating to the coupon cost due on Wednesday.
